I thought that this was a fairy tale book for children, and it is actually. But metaphorically it teaches us the most important lesson in life: always be yourself. Simbaline is a beautiful butterfly but she doesn't know how to fly. She lives on the ground, being a bystander of others’ lives that always remind her that the ground is not her place, feeling different and alone. One day she meets Edgar, the caterpillar who drags her on the top of a tree, showing her the world from a different perspective. And after Edgar completed his metamorphosis, Simbaline discovered he also is a butterfly and suddenly remembers how to spring her wings and fly. There is a little Simbaline in each one of us, insecure, sometimes scared, pressured by society to conform. But each one of us has their inner beauty and should be proud of themselves. And when it’s the right time, everyone can shine and fly.
