A Used Friend For Sale

Metaphorically, in some fashion we are all articles in a yard sale. We are those articles at some point in our lives when we are unappreciated, lost or simply forgotten. We are more than the baby doll that some little girl out grew. We are more than the baseball lost in an over-grown grassy field. It is our hope that on one sunny day, someone will pay the price to see us for who we really are. For now we are to enjoy the beautiful green lawns that we have the privilege to lie on. Enjoy the people as they rummage through the boxes as they decide if there's a place for us in their life. Enjoy the sun or the rain because we know, sooner rather than later, the right person will come and give us shelter or place us upon a mantle. Most importantly, enjoy the fact that we know being used is nothing more than an advantage over those things that are not.
